bigLITTLE Goes MAD

…MAD MEN that is.
After watching our first episode of AMC’s “Mad Men,” we were hooked! The show triggers an instant sense of nostalgia for an era that begs to be revisited. So that’s exactly what we did…
5th Avenue. Doorman building. Upon arrival our guests, clad perfectly in skinny ties and pencil skirts, were greeted by old school bellhops and directed towards their portal into 1960. Coats and hats were taken at the door, and replaced by a classic gin martini with a twist. Ah, good old social lubrication. Introductions were made and 11 guests sipped and nibbled on mini sausages. Once the “cocktail hour” commenced, everyone found their place setting and awaited the meal.

Bellies full, everyone stepped out with their Manhattans to the back patio. The air was thick with laughter amongst new friends and smoke from unfiltered Lucky Strikes. From the kitchen we could view our guests in all their glory, as if directly from a scene in MAD MEN.
Special thanks to Gianfranco Verga of Louis 649 Bar for all cocktail pairings, as well as Kerin Auth of Tinto Fino!!! This event was possible because of their knowledge, generosity, friendship and continued support in our vision.
Additional thanks go to Reed Putlitz for hosting the evening in his beautiful home. “The Help,” as they preferred to be called, Nicholas Urie and Anna Gordon… you were both darlings.
